Install the Project446 client for CS:GO Legacy

Step-by-step Project446 installation instructions, default CS:GO Legacy folder location and update advice for Windows.

Before installation

Install CS:GO Legacy in Steam first. Close the game before copying or updating client files, and use the updater when it is available so required files stay in sync.

Installation steps

The default Steam path may differ if your library is stored on another drive.

  1. 01Open Steam, find CS:GO Legacy and choose Browse local files.
  2. 02Download the Project446 installer or direct ZIP from project446.com/download.
  3. 03Point the installer at the CS:GO Legacy folder, or extract the ZIP there.
  4. 04Allow existing files to be updated when prompted.
  5. 05Launch through Steam and sign in to the Project446 website when account features are needed.

If the client does not connect

Verify that the game folder is correct, download the latest client build again and check the Project446 network status. The FAQ contains current solutions for common launch and connection issues.
